This is the section for you if you have a question on anything related to your child’s developmental delay/disability. Post what is on your mind and you will probably find that you are not alone!

Many of our developmentally delayed/disabled children are able to benefit from various therapies. Are you looking for ideas on how to better follow up on sessions with your child at home? Wondering about the progress your child is making or not making? Post here for some feedback on these topics and more!

Sometimes our child may have behaviours that are very difficult to manage. Sharing on this topic may provide some understanding, encouragement, and insights among parents dealing with similar situations.

This is the place to ask, discuss, and share anything education-related. This includes all levels of education, including daycare, preschool, mainstream schools, specialized schools, homeschooling, camps, etc.

There are many transitions in our children's lives.They may go to preschool/nursery school then on to school and from high school to day programs, work opportunities, and housing. These transitions are a challenge for the parents as well as the children. Who guides us through them? What are the next steps? Have you had these experiences or are you wondering what to do next? Share your experiences or ask for suggestions in this section.

This section is available to discuss sports, outings and travel from the perspective of accommodating a family member with special needs.

This section can include queries and advice on any disability aids that might help our children. This can include equipment, aids, videos, software... please share ideas with other members looking for something that might help their child's life and learning.

It can be difficult to know where to start looking or who to contact when you suspect your child has some type of developmental issue. This is the section where you can share your observations or concerns and ask others for the names of organizations which provide the type of service you think might support your child's needs.

Finding a capable caregiver who can care for your child and understand his/her needs can be a challenge. Not everyone has family or friends nearby or who are comfortable enough to spend time with your child while you attend meetings, go shopping, or just relax. This is where you can ask others for recommendations or references of people or agencies who offer respite.

It is not always easy to speak up for what your child needs, yet when you do you raise awareness and build support. Use this section to discuss approaches to situations which you would like to see changed.

This is a section for members to tell us more about themselves and their child in the interest of sharing your story. Posting here gives people an insight into your family, how you cope with a disabled child, and gives people inspiration in times of need.

This section is a place to post exciting new developments (however small) that other parents of children with developmental delays/disabilities will appreciate more than anyone! Share your success stories here!

Perhaps some of our members are not yet connected to services and wondering if their child is in fact delayed/disabled… sharing stories on our observations of our children, how we might have come to a diagnosis, etc. could be very enlightening and reassuring to those members.

Some of us have a child with a very rare condition, or simply do not know of any other children with developmental delays/disabilities in their circle of family and friends. If you are looking to connect with members who might be facing the same challenges as you, please mention it here. Members, please keep an eye on this section for anyone you might be able to connect with.

Even though we know everyone is different, sometimes it can be reassuring to hear about the progress children similar to ours might have made. This section is an opportunity for members to share how things have progressed with their child over the years.
